Last Friday we had the privilege of meeting two inspiring women – Lyn and Kylee the founders of the Shining Stars Foundation. For 4 years they have been running their outreach service across Macarthur and Liverpool. Both Lyn and Kylee have full time jobs and family commitments – including foster children, yet give up their evenings to look after those less fortunate. They were incredibly humble about the work they do for the community. To say thank you for the great they do in our community a presentation and delicious morning tea, provided by staff, was held at our Chipping Norton site.
By joining forces the Chipping Norton, Moorebank, Appin and Menangle teams were able to make a substantial donation of money, groceries, clean water, tents and sleeping bags for the homeless. On top of this the staff personally donated toiletries, towels and food. It was amazing to see the Shining Stars vans fully loaded! This donation is a stellar example of how Benedict’s staff and BeneFactor program can make a difference in the local community.
