SETTING THE STANDARD FOR CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

At Benedict, we’re proud of our thermal resistivity sand, the unsung hero of solar and wind farm installations. This unique material offers an extremely low thermal resistivity rating of approximately 0.7Km/W, at 97% compaction of MDD and 0.0% moisture. What does this mean for you? Heat easily dissipates from the cable, giving engineers a material that meets the spec for the project, and in some cases the option to use a lower rating of cable, saving you money.

Proven Track Record in Major Projects

We’ve been the trusted choice for some of the largest projects in the country. Here are a few well known examples where our thermal resistivity sand has been used in large volumes with great success.

Bango Wind Farm

The third largest operational wind farm in NSW, became fully operational in 2023. This 244MW project generates enough electricity to power 144,000 homes and prevent 543,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Since 2020, we’ve contributed over 25,000 tonnes of thermal resistivity sand, ensuring the project’s success and safety.

RYE Park WindFarm

The largest wind farm in NSW, is expected to produce 1,188 gigawatt-hours (GWh) each year—enough to power 215,000 homes and offset 960,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. Over 36 months, we contributed 12,000+ tonnes of thermal resistivity sand, ensuring the project’s stability and efficiency.

Flyers Creek Wind Farm

Set to generate approximately 450 gigawatt hours of electricity per year, powering more than 80,000 Australian households and avoiding over 333,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Over 24 months, we supplied 26,000+ tonnes of our thermal resistivity sand, essential in ensuring the project’s reliability and safety, helping them achieve these impressive figures.

The Wellington Solar Farm

Boasting a capacity of 174 MW, generates enough electricity to power up to 46,000 average NSW homes. This project aligns with both the Commonwealth’s Renewable Energy Target and NSW’s Renewable Energy Action Plan. Over 24 months, Benedict supplied 6,000+ tonnes of thermal resistivity sand, playing a crucial role in the project’s success and sustainability.

Consistency You Can Count On

In this business, consistency is king. Our thermal resistivity sand boasts the lowest ratings on the market, ensuring the cables do not overheat which can cause them to ultimately fail. We understand that transport costs can make or break a deal, but our track record of delivering top-notch material, (both in NSW and interstate) on time and within spec makes us the smart choice.
